Press Release Summary: With the launch of SocialVote.com a small team of
entrepreneurs looks to give political power back to the people.

Press Release Body: Walnut Creek, CA, (EXPRESS PRESS RELEASE) Oct 29, 2007 - Growing
up in a small town in the State of Hawaii the founder of SocialVote.com never
thought he would be in a position to impact his country. At one time an avid
follower of politics and current events, Arnott found himself slowly starting to
drift away. After 9/11 the country looked to its\' leaders to make our world right
again. After the endless bad news on the war, people losing their jobs, and an utter
feeling of discontentment, Arnott decided it was easier to just unplug.

\"I used to be glued to the 24 hour news networks to see what was happening next.
After a while, all I saw was bad news, corruption, war, and despair. So I decided it
was just better to turn it off.\"

After years of disconnect, he tried to reinvigorate his thirst for what was going on
with his country, and around the world. \"I turned on the TV, and after about an hour
of hearing about Anna Nicole Smith I was ready to pull my hair out. I\'m mean it\'s
tragic, and it is news, but hours on end? Right then and there I decided that
something needed to be done.\"

SocialVote.com was born out of this need for truth, the need for the common folk to
have a say in what others read and believe. SocialVote uses a popular web 2.0
technique that allows users to post and then vote on political news. It\'s a truly
democratic way to make and consume news. \"I\'m not going to let some multi billion
dollar cooperation tell me who I need to vote for. I want an open exchange of
information and ideas that are unbiased, from my friends, neighbors, and people
around the word\", says Arnott.

Along with the website, SocialVote is available as a Facebook application that
allows users to vote on their favorite candidates for President, and then invite
their friends to do the same. \"This will be a truly unique way to see how the
political process will work on a digital medium. After the election is over we can
look at the data and see how close it came to what really happened at the polls.\"

To have fun with the politics surrounding the election, the SocialVote team included
comedian Stephen Colbert, who recently announced that he would be a presidential
candidate. Along with all the serious stuff that people need to know about the
candidates, the Facebook app has some funny tidbits, like the fact that Dennis
Kucinich has a few family pets: Harry the beagle-basset, Lucie the beagle and George
the cocker spaniel. Did you know that Barack Obama is a smoker?

Will the folks at SocialVote make a difference in the 2008 election? I know the
founders would like to think so... well what are you waiting for? Get to the virtual
polls and vote for the candidate of your choice. The SocialVote application can be
added at http://apps.facebook.com/socialvote, and the SocialVote site is at
http://socialvote.com.
